New functionality

I just added some more skin settings functionality to Dynamo. This skin, for example, has a new setting called “Header Image” which allows you to easily override the header image. It even supports optional validation on the width and height.

Spent some time “normalising” some settings - there is now a site-specific “header code” setting as well as skin-specific ones. Nice way of separating site-specific stuff (like hit tracking code) from skin-specific stuff (like stylesheet overrides).

Now I’m working on selectbox skin settings. I want to use it on the sandbox skin so that you can select a basic layout stylesheet (one column, two column, three column, etc) and then just override things like the fonts and colors by putting css code in the “header code” setting. Kindof like a skin for advanced users.

New home

I finally moved my blog over to Dynamo. I used to use wordpress on a friend’s virtual machine but the server (being more of a toy than anything) was quite slow and wordpress is just not as quick and easy to use as Dynamo ;) Actually, I mostly just want to have my blog inside Dynamo because I’m more likely to update it regularly this way. I am working on it every day, after all.

This skin is called Cutline. It is an excellent free wordpress skin that I ported over to Dynamo. I’ll create little sites on Dynamo for each of the free skins that will serve both as demos and also a place for me to offer the source code for download. (To comply with GPL licensed skins and also to serve as example code)
