I just wrote a little jabber bot using python-jabberbot so that I can easily post tumblr-like things to my blog.

I already have gmail open all day, so now I have an extra contact called “gimbot” that I can “talk” to in order to post little bits of text, links, images and things.

I have this idea for a reddit-like system where you have to provide a reason in the form of a comment on why you voted up or down when you vote. And you can change your comment and your vote if/when you change your mind. there will be no other method for commenting - only the people voting can (in effect) comment and all their comments are linked back to their accounts (as usual). It might stop some of the trolling and random/arbitrary conversations and in a way there might be some more accountability if people can see how/why you voted.
